In June I ran two workshops on how chiropractic care can help you nurture your nervous system health from the inside out.
In case you missed it, here are three takeaways.
Chiropractic adjustments reorganise the nervous system: Every time you get adjusted your nervous system reorganises how the brain and body are talking to each other. To be healthy we need to have high quality and efficient communication between our brain and body.
Your nervous system health drives the health of all your other body systems: People are often doing the right things for their health, the things that are supposed to improve their health but they don’t always see the results. This can occur because although people are doing the right things their nervous system is stuck in stress mode, it’s hard for things like gut health to improve and stress to reduce if your nervous system is stressed to the max. This goes for kids and adults.
Kids don’t grow out of stress they grow into long term nervous system dysregulation: For kids how stress shows up depends on what stage of development they are in. For example in newborns stress shows up as babies who don’t want to be put down, who don’t sleep or are colicky. In Toddlers stress can show up as kids who are constantly pushing and pulling at parents or siblings, difficulties in regulating emotions and separation anxiety. For Teenagers it can show up as low mood, withdrawing from people and activities and big fluctuations in emotions. All of these examples are just different examples of the same thing, a stressed and dysregulated nervous system.
